Curtis Brewer

About

Through his twenty-five years of professional music experience across the world, Curtis Brewer has earned a sterling reputation in education, performance, and production. He is an award-winning and internationally-recognized musician that graduated summa cum laude with his masters degree in Jazz Guitar performance from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville.

His performing pursuits has led him across the U.S. with Kentucky Knife Fight (four-time winner of the alt-magazine Riverfront Times “Best Rock Band” and StL Post-Dispatch “Best Band” awards) and across Europe as music director for artists Bette Smith, The Clubs, and The Curtis J Social.

His musical style incorporates the diverse experiences of his studies in American music, blending his university jazz education, country and blues traditions of his hometown and the rock music that shaped his generation. He notes Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Paige as early influences with further explorations that led to guitar luminaries Prince, Marc Ribot, and Brent Mason. Once the Midwest’s best kept secret, Brewer now plants his roots deep in the New York music community as a highly regarded collaborator, producer, studio musician, and guitar instructor.

He is currently accepting new students for private guitar lessons in 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 1-hour sessions for daytime, nights, or weekend lessons. Email him today to set up your free trial lesson! → brewerguitar@gmail.com
